Information theory explains quantum physics

I was reading this great article

How Quantum Mechanics Derives from a Revolutionary New Theory of Information

And much to my delight, the original research paper is available, and it is comprehensible.

Three-dimensionality of space and the quantum bit: an information-theoretic approach:

Start with postulating the existence of an information unit, add three other reasonable postulates, and you have a framework that supports quantum physics.

The Open Science movement is hugely important, and whenever I see scientific papers freely available, I’m very glad. Public money pays for research, so data and research papers should be freely available, given certain constraints.
